Accepting 2012 Grant Requests
Each year Silicon Valley Cares selects non-profit agencies and organizations that support children, teens, homeless, as well as funding crisis situations within the Santa Clara County. If you are a non-profit agency interested in applying for a grant from SVC please read the following carefully and if qualified proceed to Grant Request and complete the form.
Grant Criteria:
Silicon Valley Cares will only consider a request for funding if the agency or organization serves the needs of children, teens, homeless, and crisis situations within the Santa Clara County.
All submitting organizations, groups or agencies must be designated not-for-profit 501 (c)(3) and must be in good financial standing with local, state and federal tax authorities.
In order to succeed as a recipient of Silicon Valley Cares funds, it is imperative that a request for funding include a full descriptive of the goals/purpose of the organization, population served, listing and descriptive of board and staff members, a full budget delineating all sources of income and expense, as well as an explanation of how Silicon Valley Cares Funds will be used and their impact on the organization. Silicon Valley Cares asks that successful grant recipient’s allocate volunteers to help with the event.
Silicon Valley Cares is particularly interested in supporting organizations that allocate less than 10% of their budget towards administrative expenses, and receive less than 25% of their funding from municipal, federal, or state resources.
Silicon Valley Cares has the right to produce and execute all activities and public relations deemed necessary and appropriate in conjunction with the designated organization, agency or group. Silicon Valley Cares reserves the right to forego the funding of any organization, agency or group that is considered controversial.

1. Full name of organization
2. (a) Statement of what organization is charted to do and description of population served, with reference to authorizing agency and date of authorization. INCLUDE COPY OF ARTICLES OF ORGANIZATION. (b) Copy of TAX EXEMPTION STATUS LETTER, and a complete copy of the Internal Revenue Service DETERMINATION LETTER regarding your private foundation status.
3. Listing and descriptive of board and staff members.
4. Full budget delineating all sources of income and expense. Make sure to show how amount of budget allocated towards administrative expenses and amount of income from municipal, federal, or state resources.
5. Explanation of how Silicon Valley Cares Funds will be used and the impact on the organization.
6. Describe how organization will support Silicon Valley Cares and amount of volunteers allocated to help with the event.
7. If you would like to add any photos, please no more than 5 photos.
